Putin stated that such a point of view would be naïve, to say the least.
“We offer a model of a powerful supranational union, which would become a key player in the modern world and play a role of an effective link between Europe and the dynamic Asian and Pacific region,” Putin said.
According to Putin’s idea, the Eurasian Union would be the next, higher level of integration, which is already happening in the Customs Union and the United Economic Space (UES), which Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have created.
Putin said that the citizens of the UES, which would not have the migration, border and other barriers, would be able to choose where to live, receive education and work without any limitations.
According to Putin, it is about “turning integration into a clear and attractive process for citizens and businesses, a project that would be sustainable and long-lasting, independent of the current political and any other conjuncture.”
