Prokhorov to Host Sobchak's 'StateDep'

The banned on Russian TV political talk show, StateDep, run by Ksenia Sobchak will be broadcast on the website of “Snob,” a magazine owned by the Russian billionaire and presidential candidate Mikhail Prokhorov, BBC Russian Service reported.

“I have made an offer to Ksenia Sobchak to resume her talk show on the Snob website. I believe that the StateDep show was closed only because Alexey Navalny (popular opposition blogger) was invited as a guest for the next show. And I promise he will come,” Prokhorov said.

According to Prokhorov, freedom of speech is the basis of every healthy society and country.

“When I am elected a president, I promise that freedom of speech will come back to the central television channels. We will finish with the lies and censorship forever,” he said.

The StateDep talk show was canceled on the Russian MTV channel after it aired only once. According to Sobchak, it was a political decision related to the upcoming presidential elections in Russia.
