07 Feb 2012 11:07 • Views: 219 More than half of Americans say they would vote for Barack Obama in the upcoming presidential elections in 2012, Interfax reports, citing a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Fifty-one percent of respondents said they plan to vote for incumbent President Barack Obama, while 45 percent said they would vote for Republican Party hopeful Mitt Romney.
Notably, should Republican candidate Newt Gingrich win the nomination, 54 percent of respondents said they would choose Obama, with 43 percent of the Americans saying they would prefer Gingrich.
The polls also revealed a pattern – two-thirds of respondents admit that the more they learn about Romney, the less they like him, Interfax says.
