Detained, meaning: sentenced – one more entrepreneur has been brought to the brink of death due to dysfunction in the Russian court system. Stanislav Kankia has been detained for the past 18 months. Once a healthy man, he is practically disabled now. He has had 6 strokes, is now partially paralyzed, does not recognize his lawyer anymore and is losing memory. He’s still kept in detainment, despite the amendments in the Criminal Code, and is being battered even during court sessions.
