United Russia Deputy Dmitry Kozak was booed at an anti-drug concert in St. Petersburg November 26 -- the latest in a series of public jeerings of ruling party officials at events. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was reportedly expected to speak at the event, but did not appear.
Last week, while congratulating Russian Mixed Martial Arts Champion Fedor Emelyanenko in the ring after his victory over American Jeff Monson, the crowd appeared to boo Putin in a rare show of public displeasure towards the Russian leader. Meanwhile in Chelyabinsk, hockey player Vladimir Antipov was booed by the audience after reading a campaign promotion for United Russia during a match.
